Senior Safety Manager

We are seeking an experienced and valuesled Senior Safety Manager across the East Coast of Australia to help shape safer healthier and more inclusive workplaces across these environments.
This is a highly influential leadership role ideal for a safety professional who is passionate about developing leaders empowering teams and embedding a strong safety culture across geographically dispersed and operationally complex sites.
About the Role
You will work closely with Executive Directors General Managers and operational leaders across largescale mining offshore and remote health care and Chartwells portfolios to drive sustainable safety outcomes.
You will lead a team of safety professionals and play a pivotal role in strengthening Our Safety Culture supporting leaders at every level to understand risk lead with care and take ownership of safety outcomes.
This role offers a blend of strategic influence and handson leadership with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on peoples lives every day.
This role is based in the Brisbane office offering a hybrid arrangement whilst also requiring regular travel to sites across the East Coast of Australia.
What Youll Be Known For
- Building trusted partnerships with senior leaders and operational teams
- Coaching senior leaders to confidently lead safety through visible valuesbased behaviours
- Creating safe inclusive environments where people feel supported and heard
- Driving practical scalable safety solutions that work in realworld operations
- Developing capable safety professionals and future leaders
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Executive Directors and General Managers to drive continuous safety improvement
- Coach leaders at all levels to embed Our Safety Culture and lead safety with care and accountability
- Lead and develop a highperforming team of safety professionals
- Strengthen food safety allergen management and critical risk controls across operations
- Support safe mobilisations for new sites and growth initiatives
- Drive effective hazard identification risk management and incident investigations
- Ensure lessons learned are shared and embedded across the business
- Oversee compliance with Compass Group and our various client HSEQ requirements
- Contribute to tender and client engagement activities by demonstrating strong safety capability
- Support ongoing certification to Australian and international HSEQ standards

What Youll Bring
Were looking for a leader who balances technical expertise with empathy influence and strong communication.
You will ideally bring:
- 10 years experience leading safety in largescale remote or complex environments
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and build trusted partnerships
- Experience implementing and improving HSEQ systems across multisite operations
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and HACCP
- A peoplecentred leadership style with a genuine care for wellbeing
- Relevant WHS qualifications (Degree/Diploma and/or Cert IV WHS)
- Confidence using data analytics and insights to inform decisionmaking
- Ability to build strong rapport across a diverse set of both internal and external stakeholders clients and other relevant industry associations and bodies
Your First 12 Months Will Focus On
- Partnering with senior leaders to deliver sector safety plans and targeted initiatives
- Reducing food contamination allergen risks injuries and illnesses
- Strengthening safety support models for complex and remote operations
- Building risk identification and rootcause capability across leadership teams
- Establishing clear and meaningful safety lead indicators
