The Senior Manager Change Lead is responsible for leading the endtoend uplift of WUFSAs enterprise-wide Money Laundering Terrorism Financing and Proliferation Financing (ML/TF/PF) Risk Assessment framework (EWRA).
The role will act as the primary subject matter expert in driving the required uplift to the risk assessment methodology delivery and embedment to enable WUFSA to successfully deliver an uplifted ML/TF risk assessment that is regulatoryaligned operationally effective defensible to AUSTRAC and sustainable over time.
The role will include the necessary governance documentation and stakeholder engagement and consider relevant integration into downstream AML/CTF controls and decisionmaking.
An opportunity to join Western Unions Compliance Team on a full-time basis for a 12-month period.
Role Responsibilities:
ML/TF Risk Assessment Transformation
- Lead the design and delivery of an uplifted EWRA ensuring alignment to legislative and regulatory expectations.
- Oversee enhancements to inherent and residual risk methodologies across customers products/services deliverychannelsandjurisdictions ensuring risk ratings are clearly defined consistently applied and evidencebased.
- Ensure the risk assessment is designed to appropriately inform AML/CTF controls including customer risk rating due diligence transactionmonitoringand escalation triggers.
Change & Delivery Leadership
- Act as the accountable change lead for the ML/TF risk assessment uplift owning scope roadmap milestonesdependenciesand delivery artefacts.
- Translate regulatory and risk requirements into clear executable changes across people processgovernanceand technology.
- Support crossfunctional delivery across localregionaland global compliance risk operations technologydataand business teams.
Governance Approvals & Risk Ownership
- Attend governance forums to support senior management review challenge and approval of the ML/TF risk assessment and material changes.
- Prepare highquality papers and recommendations for executive committees and Boardlevel risk forums.
- Assistin ensuring clear senior manager accountabilities decision records and version control aremaintainedfor the ML/TF risk assessment.
Regulatory & Audit Readiness
- Ensure the uplifted ML/TF risk assessment is fully documentedauditableand defensible in regulatory reviews and independent evaluations.
- Support the localregionaland global compliance teams in their response to findings issues or recommendations relating to ML/TF risk assessment design and implementation.
Capability & Embedment
- Lead change management activities to embed the uplifted ML/TF risk assessment into businessasusual operations.
- Support targeted training and uplift of capability acrossfirst and second lineteams on ML/TF risk conceptsmethodologiesand decision use.
- Drive cultural adoption so the ML/TF risk assessment is actively used in riskbased decisionmaking not treated as a static compliance artefact.
Role Requirements:
- Bachelors or masters Degree preferred. Professional certifications in AML/CTF or risk management (e.g. CAMS or equivalent) highly desirable.
- At least 7 years of experience in AML/CTF working in a regulatory setting will be highly desirable.
Additional Skills:
- Leadership experience delivering complex regulatory or financial crime change programs within a financial institution.
- Deep practical knowledge of AML/CTF frameworks and ML/TF risk assessment design including enterprisewide and pillarlevel risk assessments.
- Strong governance stakeholdermanagementand executive communication capability.
- Experience delivering ML/TF risk assessment uplifts in response to regulatory reform enforcementactionor supervisory remediation.
Work Shift
