- Parramatta CBD location with flexible working arrangements available. The team currently attends the office on Thursdays Fridays and every second Tuesday.
- Salary ranges from $129464 to $142665 p.a. plus super and annual leave loading
About the role
In this role youll lead end-to-end internal audit engagements as part of the internal audit work plan.
You will partner closely with co-sourced audit partners and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality assurance and advisory outcomes.
The role provides broad exposure across operational financial technology and compliance areas with the opportunity to influence senior stakeholders and contribute to continuous improvement across the department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and deliver internal audit engagements from planning through to reporting
- Oversee and coordinate co-sourced and external audit providers ensuring high-quality timely and value-adding outcomes
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Provide practical risk-based advice on governance and internal controls and identify opportunities to improve processes.
- Apply data analytics to assess risks track recommendations and drive adoption

About you
You are an experienced audit professional who is confident leading audit engagements and engaging with stakeholders across the business. You bring a strong understanding of risk and control environments along with a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach.
You will demonstrate:
- Experience leading or delivering internal or external audit engagements across operational financial IT or compliance areas
- Experience working with or managing co-sourced providers
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to manage expectations and proactively resolve issues
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong knowledge of risk management governance and internal controls frameworks
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Departments Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Departments Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent workplace experience.
- Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
