Join our dynamic team as a Release Engineer and lead the deployment of data products including analytical reports and dashboards along with supporting infrastructure from pre-production through to production.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to allocate and provision internal test environments and external data and integration interfaces enabling seamless production-ready releases. Working closely with key stakeholders you will coordinate releases from inception to delivery ensuring the smooth introduction of new features while minimising operational risk and incidents.
You will continuously improve release processes and quality practices to support high-quality delivery and ongoing service improvement. This includes providing input into processes and technologies applying best-practice release methodologies and aligning release activities with operational requirements and organisational objectives. You will facilitate release planning workshops proactively communicate with stakeholders and ensure data security and integrity across all environments.
In this role you will also ensure delivery teams adhere to established engagement and release management processes enabling compliance with organisational standards. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment balancing business and stakeholder needs while managing competing release priorities across multiple development teams to maintain code integrity and manage interdependencies.
Your day-to-day activities can include:
- Design build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments across multiple environments.
- Manage release processes for Azure Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric solutions.
- Configure and deploy Azure Data Lake assets in accordance with Medallion Architecture principles.
- Package and deploy PySpark applications including management of Python dependencies and environment-specific Spark configurations.
- Manage Spark notebook deployments including dependency management and execution sequencing.
- Develop deploy and support Azure Synapse Pipelines including monitoring troubleshooting and optimisation.
- Create and maintain Microsoft Fabric Lakehouses including the management of Lakehouse Shortcuts.
- Deploy and manage Microsoft Fabric Warehouses including staged warehouse objects and release processes.
- Create configure and administer Microsoft Fabric Workspaces.
- Implement parameterised deployments of Semantic Models Power BI reports and Microsoft Fabric artefacts across multiple environments.
- Build and manage Microsoft Fabric Deployment Pipelines.
- Implement secure secrets and credential management using Azure Key Vault and DevOps best practices.
- Support release governance deployment documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential requirements of the role
- Tertiary qualifications or industry certifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
- Current and valid NSW Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
