Were looking for an experienced Plant Superintendent to join the plant department leadership team and drive the availability and reliability of McCoskers plant and equipment fleet. This is a role where youll take ownership of the plant department performance safety culture and the team that keep our civil construction operations moving.
Sitting within the plant department and reporting to the Plant Manager youll lead other plant department personnel coordinate maintenance schedules manage resources and foster a workplace where safety quality and accountability are non-negotiable.
This position will:
Champion a positive safety culture driving safety KPIs conducting inspections managing incidents and ensuring all workers operate within established HSE standards
Oversee plant department operations end-to-end including scheduling maintenance planning subcontractor management and plant procurement within delegated authority
Monitor plant availability and productivity addressing delays proactively and reporting on performance in agreed formats and timeframes
Lead develop and support a team of supervisors leading hands tradespeople and apprentices setting clear expectations and fostering a high-performance culture
Build strong relationships with site and project leadership teams to align plant department outputs with operational and project requirements
Ensure compliance with McCoskers Management System Manual quality standards and all applicable legislation and codes
Experience and Skills
Trade qualification in mechanical diesel fitting or an equivalent engineering discipline
Current Queensland Open Driver Licence and White Card required
Demonstrated leadership experience with workshop teams in civil construction
Strong background in maintenance scheduling personnel management and plant operations
High-level technical knowledge of mechanical maintenance and civil construction plant and equipment
Proven ability to manage resources analyse performance data and find solutions that balance cost availability and safety
Strong communicator with the confidence to influence outcomes and build effective relationships across all levels
High attention to detail with a commitment to quality accuracy and continuous improvement
Lead with integrity setting the standard for behaviour ethics and respect on the floor.
