Professional Search Group are partnering with an ASX Listed Gold Mining business to recruit for an experienced Payroll Manager lead a critical business function and oversee the end to end payroll functions. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring accurate compliant and timely payroll processing while driving continuous improvement in payroll systems controls and processes.
The successful candidate will be the subject matter expert and owner of the Workday Payroll platform ensuring payroll operations are delivered efficiently and effectively while maintaining the integrity of HR and payroll data across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day management and operation of payroll for all employees.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and associated payment runs.
Develop implement and maintain robust payroll controls governance frameworks and operational processes.
Drive payroll compliance with relevant legislation awards enterprise agreements and company policies.
Act as the business owner and primary administrator of the Workday Payroll system.
Lead system enhancements testing upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives within Workday.
Maintain accountability for HRIS master data integrity accuracy and governance across the organisation.
Partner closely with HR Finance and business leaders to ensure seamless payroll and people data management.
Manage payroll reporting audits reconciliations and compliance requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency automation and employee experience within payroll operations.

Extensive payroll management experience within a medium to large organisation.
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation compliance requirements and best practices.
Demonstrated experience implementing and improving payroll controls and processes.
Proven expertise in Workday Payroll and HRIS administration.
Strong analytical problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Ability to lead operational excellence while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple business functions.
