As one of the largest packaging companies in Australia and New Zealand Opal Specialty Packaging provides tailored cardboard-based packaging solutions for small medium and large businesses. We have an exciting opportunity to join the Opal team as our site in Orchard Hills is currently looking for multiple Machine Operators to come onboard!

The key focuses/ duties of this role include:

• Setting running and maintaining converting machines
• Assisting on converting machines
• Achieve safety quality and efficiency targets
• Recording production data
• Meet food safety standards and ensure the work area is clean
• Reporting hazards conducting inductions and training employees/casuals on relevant safety hazards
• Actively participate in continuous improvement activities
• Other various site duties as directed
• Running machines such as: Asitrade (single-faced corrugator) Bobst die cutter Window facers carton erectors or laminators)

For this role we would ideally like you to have:

• Experience within a similar industry would be highly regarded (but is not a requirement for the role)
• Proven experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment
• The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Be a reliable & adaptable individual with a desire to learn
• Experience in using RF scanners and/ or SAP would be viewed favourably (but is not required)
• Some mechanical aptitude
