Are you passionate about helping people access information technology and lifelong learning opportunitiesGeelong Regional Library Corporation (GRLC) is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Information Services Librarian to join our team at Belmont Library.


About the role

As an Information Services Librarian you will provide specialist expertise in information services digital literacy and emerging technologies while contributing to the planning development and delivery of programs and learning opportunities within the library. Working as part of the Belmont Library team you will support customers and staff contribute to service improvements and help ensure our services remain relevant accessible and responsive to community needs.

Key activities include:

  • Plan develop and deliver information technology and digital literacy programs for customers and staff.
  • Support customers to access information resources online services emerging technologies and digital platforms.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to staff in relation to information services digital literacy and emerging technologies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve services respond to emerging trends and contribute to library-wide projects and initiatives that enhance customer experiences and access to library services.
  • Support library operations promote equitable access to library collections technology services and spaces including acting in a supervisory capacity during short-term Library Coordinator absences when required.


About you

Were looking for someone who combines professional library knowledge with a passion for learning technology and community engagement.

You will bring:

  • A Degree Graduate Diploma or higher qualification in Library and Information Management Library and Information Studies or a related discipline eligible for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
  • Demonstrated experience working in a library environment preferably within a public library setting.
  • Strong knowledge of information services digital literacy technology and contemporary library practices.
  • Experience planning coordinating and delivering programs training or learning initiatives for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage customers colleagues and community stakeholders.
