This is a senior leadership opportunity within a rapidly growing infrastructure group that has expanded through acquisition and is now focused on unlocking the full potential of its operating businesses.
You will step into a General Manager Queensland role overseeing a significant civil contracting platform with a combined annual revenue of approximately $200 million supported by a well-capitalised parent organisation with a clear mandate for long-term growth.

We partner closely with contractors engineering consultancies and delivery organisations to place high quality technical professionals.

The businesses are established self-performing civil contractors with strong delivery capability experienced teams owned plant fleets and long-term client relationships across major infrastructure and construction markets.
The platform is performing but not yet fully optimised. The next phase is about lifting performance sharpening execution and scaling capability.
The Opportunity
You will take full responsibility for unimpeded end-to-end business performance including operations commercial outcomes people leadership plant performance safety systems and growth.
Working closely with group leadership you will be trusted to:
Improve operational efficiency productivity and project delivery outcomes
Strengthen commercial discipline margin performance and cost control
Lift plant utilisation fleet strategy and maintenance effectiveness
Build leadership capability across operational and commercial teams
Improve systems reporting governance and accountability
Deepen key client relationships and market positioning
Support integration into a broader national group structure
Identify and deliver sustainable growth opportunities
This is a hands-on leadership role in a self-performing contracting environment. Strong understanding of plant-heavy delivery models production rates utilisation and cost drivers is essential.
About You
You are likely operating at General Manager Operations Manager Regional Manager or senior construction leadership level within civil infrastructure earthworks transport utilities or mining-related contracting environments ideally in Queensland.
You bring:
Proven experience leading large operational teams in civil construction
Strong commercial and P&L accountability
Deep understanding of self-perform plant-intensive delivery models
Ability to improve performance across safety cost productivity and margin
Credibility with supervisors through to executive stakeholders
Practical leadership style with strong commercial judgement
Experience driving accountability culture and operational discipline
You are comfortable in complex fast-moving environments where performance expectations are high and improvement is expected not optional.
