About the role
We are delivering NDIS support to clients living in their community and seeking skilled Disability Support Workers to deliver quality services on a casual basis across the Adelaide southern suburbs specifically Sturt. These roles are responsible for providing support for people with disabilities in their supported homes to enable access to a quality life with dignity respect and social inclusion in the least restrictive way and ensuring a safe environment.
You will be required to demonstrate previous experience working with behaviours of concern possess a strong understanding of mental health challenges and be confident in manual handling. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster including weekends and sleep overs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to clients with complex needs to assist with daily living (including personal care)
- Support People with Disability to access and participate in the community
- Adhere to individual plans and working towards each clients goals
- Advocate for People with Disability to improve client outcomes and achieve desired goals by engaging with clients and their families
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience supporting People with Disability behaviours of concern/or mental health
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) and relevant mental health experience
- Current First Aid Certificate and CPR
- Full unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
- Manual Handling
- Ability to adhere to client support plans and complete documentation
- Commitment to providing quality support. customer choice and inclusion
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
