Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation & Cooking:Prepare season and cook high-quality pub and bistro-style meals using various methods such as grilling frying and roasting.
Quality Control:Examine ingredients to ensure freshness and quality before and during service.
Equipment Management:Regulate temperatures of ovens grills and other specialized cooking equipment.
Plating & Presentation:Portion food accurately and ensure all dishes are garnished and presented according to hotel standards.
Dietary Requirements:Prepare specialized meals to meet various dietary restrictions and allergies.
Kitchen Operations:Store food in temperature-controlled facilities maintain a hygienic workspace and strictly adhere to WHS and Food Safety legislation.
Team Support:Assist in the training and supervision of apprentices and junior kitchen staff.
Requirements
Qualifications:Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery.
Experience:At least 23 years of experience in a similar fast-paced kitchen environment.
Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of food safety hygiene and modern kitchen procedures.
Attributes:Reliable punctual and able to work efficiently under pressure during peak periods.
Availability:Flexible to work a rotating roster including evenings weekends and public holidays.
Rights:Must have valid Australian working rights.
