Job Summary
McCosker are inviting applications for an experienced Community Relations Officer to join our team for a project in Gladstone.
This position work to build and maintain a positive relationship between the company and local stakeholders including the community government and other partners. You will work to manage stakeholder engagement implement community engagement plans manage social impacts and ensure compliance with sustainability standards. This role requires stakeholder engagement expertise commercial acumen and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
This position will:
- Develop the stakeholder engagement strategy in collaboration with project management.
- Build and maintain a strong network of community and client partners and industry stakeholders to implement the strategy.
- Monitor community trends and emerging risks and opportunities to inform decisionmaking.
- Oversee the preparation coordination and submission of reports presentations and other project documentation.
- Provide expert guidance on consultation and engagement initiatives.
To be successful in the role:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences Community Engagement or Public Relations desired.
- Previous relevant experience in a similar role preferably in the construction industry or similar.
- Demonstrated expertise in civil construction projects including precontracts and tendering and projects incorporating design.
- Strong understanding of relevant standards legislation and industry practices.
- Proven experience contributing at both strategic and operational levels.
- Knowledge and experience in developing stakeholder management strategies.
- Highly developed negotiation and relationship management skills
