How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:

The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do:

  • Work with the Program Manager and Department Heads to plan manage execute and deliver engineering projects.
  • Provide technical leadership oversight and direct support across engineering disciplines to ensure the successful development and delivery of launch vehicle systems.
  • Work closely with key personnel across the business on strategic planning technical direction and delivery of company objectives.
  • Develop and review conceptual and theoretical designs for aerospace products and systems that meet business technical safety and program requirements.
  • Direct and coordinate engineering design modification fabrication integration and testing activities across products and subsystems.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with potential partners customers suppliers and collaborators within the aerospace and related industries.
  • Plan and conduct operational experimental and environmental testing on prototypes models aerospace equipment and vehicle systems.
  • Write and review technical reports operating procedures guides handbooks and other documentation for management engineering teams and external stakeholders.
  • Direct Research and Development programs where required.
  • Review field performance reports and technical documentation to identify issues troubleshoot failures and improve product performance.
  • Plan and coordinate engineering responses to technical problems affecting the vehicle or related systems.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies industry best practices and relevant aerospace developments assessing their potential benefit to the business.
  • Ensure engineering projects are delivered on time and in full with any scope schedule cost or technical variations clearly communicated to the Program Manager and broader leadership team.
  • Continually analyse monitor and improve the efficiency reliability and stability of engineering systems and processes.
  • Travel as required including to the companys launch site.
  • Ensure employees work in accordance with company policies procedures safety standards and quality requirements.
  • Provide input on training capability development and resourcing needs to support the business.
  • Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications Skills and Experience:

  • Masters degree in an engineering discipline.
  • NV1 Security Clearance eligibility preferred.
  • At least 10 years of engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years of management experience.
  • Demonstrated capability in project and task management execution analysis and product development.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering analysis tools and CAD systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Desired Qualifications Skills and Experience:

  • At least 15 years of senior engineering experience.
  • Experience building leading and developing engineering teams.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.
  • Strong leadership skills with at least 5 years in a similar role within aerospace or a related industry.
  • Experience in space systems engineering risk assessment cost modelling and engineering analysis.
  • Highly developed project management skills.
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams in complex technical programs
