Your Role with Our Client

Our client is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join the Accounting Team and help deliver accurate efficient and scalable finance operations across an expanding portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Compliance

  • Manage daily bookkeeping tasks for a range of clients including bank reconciliations accounts payable and receivable and maintaining general ledgers.
  • Assist with BAS/IAS preparation payroll processing (including STP 2.0) and superannuation compliance requirements.
  • Support month-end procedures including journals accruals and preparation of workpapers.
  • Ensure all financial work is completed accurately and complies with Australian accounting and regulatory standards.

Reporting & Client Support

  • Assist in preparing management reports and financial summaries for clients.
  • Respond to routine client queries and escalate more complex matters to the Senior Accountant when required.
  • Help improve the accuracy and turnaround time of client deliverables.
  • Document processes clearly to ensure client workflows data and operational nuances are properly maintained.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and support automation initiatives within the technology stack including Microsoft 365 Xero and Dext.

Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Accountant and wider team to maintain strong workflow and quality standards.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to junior team members where needed.
  • Contribute to a collaborative accountable and process-focused team culture.

About You

  • Experience: 25 years bookkeeping experience within an Australian public practice or multi-client environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience with Xero and related applications such as Dext Syft and Xero Practice Manager.
  • Attention to Detail: Highly accurate with the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
  • Process-Oriented: Comfortable working within evolving systems and contributing ideas for process improvements.
  • Communication: Professional and confident communication skills when dealing with both clients and internal stakeholders.
