Due to staff movements we have a rare opening for anAviationData Acquisition Analyst tohelpour project teamsdeliverhighqualitysurvey datafor our clients assets.
The data is captured using advancedlidarscanningtechniques andhigh-qualityimagery. Thepurpose of this role is toensurethat theprojectsdata acquisition activitiesareplanned captured anddeliveredtoclient specifications.A summary of the role activitiesislisted below:
Assigning acquisition parameters (before capture):
- Createsafeefficientandaccurateflight plans that fit projects specs ensuringthe planscoverareaof interests
- Create aviation charts forthe fieldcrewtooperatein controlled airspaces
- Prescribeand confirmsettings of survey equipmentthat meet project specifications
- Provide full work instructions packagenecessaryfor captureacitivitiesto field crewacross our multiple sensors and projects
During capture:
- Monitor data captureactivitiesand work with the fieldcrewremotelyasrequiredto ensure it meets client requirements
After capture:
- Review data outputs fromour surveysin GIS software
- Ensuring data is captured correctly toclientsspecifications
- QA and QC
To ensure we meet client expectations this role will require a few hours (1 3hrs or so) of weekend work every couple of weeks.
About You
Your love for working with maps within the aviation space coupled with your ability to thrive in afast-pacedenvironmentwhereinformation and datacan come from multipledirectionswill see you successful in this role.
In addition we are looking for someone who has:
- GIS Geospatial qualifications
- Experience using QGIS ArcPro Microsoft suite
o Vector processing
o GIS manipulation
o Map creation
o Spatial Data Projection knowledge - A curiosity/ growth / learning mindsetwhere challenges are seen as opportunities
- The ability to take ownership of tasks and outcomes
Nice to have but not essential:
- SpatialData literacy
- Aerial capture survey capture experience

Recently we captured the state-wide power grid in Queensland with similar work in NSW and various assignments for state governments in every Australian state as well as in New Zealand.

- Aerial LiDAR and Imagery data for transmission and distribution lines
