The Lifting Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the safe efficient and compliant execution of heavy lifting operations across construction industrial and oil & gas projects. This position is essential for minimizing risks optimizing lifting methodologies and maintaining strict adherence to international safety standards. The Lifting Engineer is responsible for developing comprehensive lifting plans supervising on-site operations and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality project outcomes. With a strong technical foundation and hands-on experience in rigging and crane operations this role ensures that all lifting activities are executed safely and efficiently contributing directly to project success and team safety.
Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed lifting plans and method statements for site operations
Review crane load charts and lifting configurations for accuracy and safety
Conduct critical lift calculations and perform comprehensive risk assessments
Supervise heavy lifting and rigging activities on-site
Ensure all lifting operations comply with OSHA ASME and LEEA standards
Inspect lifting tools cranes slings shackles and accessories for integrity and compliance
Coordinate with crane operators riggers site engineers and HSE teams to ensure seamless execution
Monitor structural load distribution during lifting operations
Provide technical guidance and support to crane operators and rigging teams
Verify that all lifting equipment certifications are valid and up to date
Maintain rigorous safety standards across all project lifting activities
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering
Proven experience as a Lifting Engineer or Rigging Engineer
In-depth knowledge of crane operations heavy lifting procedures and critical lift planning
Demonstrated experience in lifting studies and method statements
Strong understanding of safety protocols risk assessment and HSE management
Excellent communication leadership and team coordination abilities
Ability to perform effectively under pressure in dynamic fast-paced environments
Proficiency in AutoCAD and lifting software is an added advantage
Valid Lifting Engineer Certification
HSE / Safety Training Certificate
Crane & Rigging Training Certificate
Familiarity with OSHA ASME and LEEA international standards
