Responsibilities
Installation: Install telecom systems including fiber optic cables copper lines and network equipment.
Commissioning: Perform commissioning activities for telecom systems such as PABX LAN/WAN radio and satellite communication.
Testing & Verification: Conduct OTDR tests continuity checks and signal verification to ensure system integrity.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and rectify telecom faults during commissioning and start-up phases.
Documentation: Record test results prepare commissioning reports and maintain compliance documentation.
Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to offshore HSE standards Lockout/Tagout procedures and permit-to-work systems.
Requirements
Requirements
Diploma/Certificate in Telecommunications Electronics or related field.
Minimum 35 years of offshore telecom installation and commissioning experience.
Strong knowledge of fiber optic splicing copper cable termination and Ex-rated telecom equipment.
Ability to read and interpret telecom drawings splice diagrams and commissioning procedures.
Familiarity with IEC ITU and NOC standards.
Certifications & Training
Fiber Optic Splicing Qualification
Telecom Commissioning Qualification
COMPEX IEC 60079 training (for Ex-rated installations)
BOSIET / HUET (OPITO certified)
Basic H2S Training
EPCIC Project HSES Induction
