Control the production process and contribute to the achievement of company and Production department goals through efficient use of resources while meeting all safety environmental and quality requirements.
- Ensure production targets are met while maintaining compliance with Life Critical Procedures Tenets of Operations Consent to Operate plant policies and procedures Daily Operating Instructions Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Monitor process conditions and make necessary adjustments in order to optimize the process while ensuring products are within the required specifications.
- Document critical activities and abnormalities via operator’s log.
- Perform comprehensive shift turnover.
- Ensure timely completion of all compliance training.
- Ensure correct mitigations are in place for emergency and safety bypass permits.
- Issue Work Permits and authorize unit entry.
- Maintain housekeeping in the work area and advise support groups on housekeeping needs.
- Conduct detailed quality rounds and complete e-SOMS tours in the plant log all abnormalities and required follow-up in the Narrative Log report abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor and take necessary corrective actions.
- Participate in Safety and Reliability Improvement teams as required.
- Certify in the areas as decided by plant leadership and mentor new employees.
- Take corrective actions to keep all process parameters within their design limits.
- Work with and assist Technical and Maintenance teams to understand and solve process problems.
- Prepare and commission equipment as per DOI’s and Maintenance Schedule.
- Perform unit start-ups normal operations process upsets and shutdowns as per SOP and EOP requirements.
- If certified as a Board Operator work on the DCS Board and communicate with upstream/downstream units regarding process upsets/problems.
- Follow and review SOPs and EOPs and provide feedback to the Supervisor/Training Coach if revisions or modifications are required.
- Work with Turnaround Planning to develop production plans and work packages and support other operating units during turnaround activities as applicable.
- Unload CCA and collect process/product samples as required.
- Participate in MOC/PSSR processes.
- When working as Board Operator support the Alarm Management Process.
- Work as a work-up Supervisor to cover Shift Supervisor and Maintenance Coordinator roles as required.
- Ensure compliance with Life Critical Procedures Tenets of Operations Consent to Operate plant policies and procedures Daily Operating Instructions Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) MOC Process and Quality Management System.
- Participate in the safety activities of the shift to ensure regulatory health safety security environmental and quality compliance.
- Conduct plant walk-downs and audits to ensure work is being performed safely and that plant safety systems are enabled and coordinate efforts to correct discrepancies.
- Actively participate in shift toolbox meetings JSAs MSCMs etc.
- Execute Stop Work Authority and take immediate corrective actions to stop unsafe behaviours.
- When working as Board Operator handle emergency communication during plant emergencies.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems processes and practices in order to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
- Implement all relevant Section policies processes procedures and instructions so that work is conducted in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Prepare timely and accurate recaps and reports in order to meet departmental requirements policies and standards.
- Communicate with the Shift Supervisor regarding issues that require additional follow-up.
- Report incidents and near misses and participate in investigations as required.
- Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is applicable to expatriate employees only.
Required: High School with Tertiary Vocational Diploma
Preferred: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree
- Senior Process Operator Grade 12: Required experience of 6 years in the company with a minimum of 3 years as Process Operator at Grade 11 and aligned to Progression Plan requirements.
- Or Senior Process Operator Grade 12: Required 5 years of experience in the company with a minimum of 1 year as Process Operator at Grade 11. One out of four certifications must be a Board Certification and aligned to Progression Plan requirements.

- Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications
Required: English – Proficient
Preferred: Arabic – Working Knowledge is a plus
