Responsibilities
- Perform inspection maintenance repair and overhaul of diesel and industrial generators.
- Diagnose mechanical faults abnormal noise vibration overheating and performance issues.
- Inspect and replace bearings belts filters hoses seals gaskets and other mechanical components.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to approved schedules and procedures.
- Perform engine servicing lubrication cooling-system checks and fuel-system maintenance.
- Support dismantling assembly alignment and testing of generator components.
- Read and interpret technical manuals mechanical drawings and maintenance instructions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
- Follow all HSE PTW and site safety requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 35 years of relevant experience as a Generator Mechanic in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Diploma / ITI / Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering Automotive or Mechanical Maintenance preferred.
- Hands-on experience with diesel generators and associated mechanical systems.
- Good knowledge of diesel engines fuel systems cooling systems lubrication systems bearings and couplings.
- Experience in shutdown turnaround or plant maintenance projects is preferred.
- Ability to use mechanical tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Good troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Physically fit and able to work in demanding Oil & Gas environments.
- Immediate availability preferred.
Required Skills:
Physical Fitness: Ability to lift carry and move heavy materials; work in confined or elevated spaces. Experience: Previous experience in insulation work is an advantage but not always required for helper roles. Knowledge: Basic understanding of insulation materials tools and techniques (training is usually provided for helpers). Team Player: Willingness to work under supervision and assist skilled workers. Work Conditions: Comfortable working in cold environments outdoors or at heights. Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; basic understanding of workplace safety signs and labels.
