Design Engineer-Electrical

Design Engineer – Electrical responsible for the detailed design and engineering of electrical systems

including the selection and sizing of transformers UPS lighting EDGs breakers and relays. The role involves

preparing technical drawings performing electrical calculations and ensuring compliance with oil and Gas

industry standards and project specifications.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Perform load estimation and power system calculations (load flow short circuit voltage drop etc.)

- Design and prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs) power control schematics Cable sizing earthing

and lighting calculations.

- Develop detailed design packages for substations MCCs panels and distribution boards.

- Selection of power transformersACB Relays UPS systems battery EDG DC battery chargers Lihgitng

etc..

- Develop and review equipment datasheets specifications and BOQs.

- Prepare technical evaluation of vendor offers and ensure compliance with project specifications.

- Coordination with vendor for technical clarification.

- Preparation and submission of design reports calculation etc.

- Interface with procurement construction and commissioning teams for technical support.

- Ensure compliance with IEC NEC IEEE NFPA ISO and relevant project codes.

QHSE Responsibilities

- Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant QHSE standards codes and regulations.

- Support Hazard Identification (HAZID) and Risk Assessments (RA) during the design phase.

- Participate in risk screening and hazard identification activities during the early design stages to

proactively address potential HSE risks.

- Conduct and support risk assessments (RA) HAZID and constructability reviews for electrical systems.

- Maintain thorough documentation for design traceability and quality assurance during audits.

- Participate in QHSE training programs toolbox talks and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job-Specific Education & Certification

Education

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)

Certifications

- Certified in software tools (ETAP Dialux)

or Industrial Projects
