Electrowinning Operator

Job Purpose:
To operate the electrowinning cells and harvest cathode product safely and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate electrowinning cells per SOPs monitoring current voltage and cell conditions
- Strip and harvest cathodes on schedule; prepare product for weighing stacking and dispatch
- Monitor and maintain anode/cathode condition replacing as required
- Monitor electrolyte quality and report deviations
- Maintain safe working practices around electrical and acid hazards
- Keep accurate production and quality records
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Secondary education; basic plant operations training
Experience:
Essential:
- 2 years experience in an electrowinning electrorefining or similar electrochemical process environment
- Prior antimony-specific experience is not required - equivalent experience in copper or other base-metal hydrometallurgical operations is acceptable.

Required Skills:
BSc/B-tech degree in electrical Engineering 5 years of relevant post graduate experience within a Pyrometallurgical environment (Rotary kiln Reduction Furnaces / and Refining furnaces) Level & Type of Knowledge Experience & Skills Required: Strong knowledge of applicable engineering codes standards and safety regulations. Proficiency in engineering software and design tools relevant to E&I systems. Experience in project execution including testing and commissioning of E&I systems. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Proficiency in engineering design review and technical assurance Ability to interpret and approve electrical drawings and calculations Sound understanding of EPC and construction methodologies
