The School of Engineering and & Computing at the American International University in Kuwait comprises the departments of Biomedical Engineering Chemical Engineering Civil Engineering Computer Science Cybersecurity Electrical Engineering Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The school offers Bachelor of Science (BSc) degrees in Biomedical Engineering Chemical Engineering Civil Engineering Computer Science Cybersecurity Electrical Engineering Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Position Summary

The School of Engineering and Computing invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Mechanical Engineering at the Assistant Associate or Full Professor level depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching maintain an active research profile and engage with emerging technologies and methodologies. Responsibilities include undergraduate teaching curriculum development student mentorship research and institutional service while contributing to a collaborative inclusive student-centered and multicultural academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate Mechanical Engineering courses with a focus on practical and industry-based learning.
• Integrate industry practices engineering projects standards codes and real-world case studies into teaching.
• Use modern engineering tools and technologies including AI CAD CAM simulation automation robotics and data analysis.

• Teach and support key areas of Mechanical Engineering including design manufacturing thermodynamics fluid mechanics materials mechanics HVAC and energy systems.

• Support curriculum development accreditation assessment and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with faculty and industry on applied research consulting innovation and engineering projects.

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of university-level teaching experience with demonstrated excellence in teaching and student engagement.
• Strong knowledge of current Mechanical Engineering practices standards and technologies.

• Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools such as CAD CAM simulation automation or data analysis.
• Excellent communication mentoring teamwork and organizational skills in English.
