A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Skills Development Tutor to develop and deliver training, coaching, assessment,
and support for learners working in the Residential Childcare Sector - working directly with learners and employers to
develop learner knowledge, skills and behaviours to achieve their qualifications and end point assessments.
This role can offer agile working options however you must be able to travel to Manchester Learning Centres as
required.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver face to face and blended digital sequential curriculum to promote the attainment of retainable
Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSB) making reasonable adjustments to meet the individual needs of learners
across a wide variety of provisions.
Participate in open evenings, taster days, effective IAG and employer engagement activities to achieve personal
targets and replenish individual and departmental apprenticeship, funded and commercial training opportunities and
study programme caseloads as applicable.
Account manage the client caseload to ensure we retain business, facilitate progression and secure new business
Mark/assess students work, provide structured feedback and set and agree development objectives with all key
stakeholders (learners, employers etc) in line with company learning policies.
Use accurate vocational and personal developmental starting points of learners to set meaningful and collaborative
targets ensuring that all stakeholders have committed to the learner journey and support learner progress.
Ensure that you regularly review learner progress and achievement with the engagement of key stakeholders
(learner/employers) and set meaningful and stretching learning targets, ensuring personal KPIs are achieved.
Accurately track progress of all learners and effectively risk band their timely progress and achievement.
Ensure that learners additional needs are reviewed, and safeguarding concerns proactively managed in line with
company policy.

Requirements
Requirements:
A1, D32/33 or TAQA Assessor qualification.
Minimum of a Level 3 Diploma Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Teaching qualification - a minimum of PTLLS L4 or equivalent.
Substantial working experience Residential Childcare settings.
Up to date occupational knowledge and competence of the Residential Childcare sector.
Up to date understanding of L4 Children, Young People and Families Apprenticeship Standard, including End Point
Assessment requirements.
Experience of teaching and learning quality standards, especially OFSTED.
At least 1-2 years within teaching, learning and assessment.
Desirable:
Experience in delivery/assessment of L5 Diploma Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or L5
Children, Young People and Families Manager Apprenticeship Standard
