Project Estimator

• Read and understand the plans and specifications for projects bid
  
• Perform or direct performance of quantity takeoffs
  
• Perform or direct performance of solicitations to Vendors and Subcontractors
  
• Based upon all information generate costs of the project using estimating software
  
• Communicate rollout of project with Construction Manager & Superintendent
  
• Perform or direct generation of subcontracts and purchase orders for project
  
• Review of job cost information as it becomes available
  
• Communicate with Project Manager and Construction Manager on regular basis to ensure project issues / concerns are addressed.
  

Requirements

• High School Diploma
  
• Responsible for all aspects of a Public Bid for Milling Paving Drainage and Curb and Sidewalk which would include takeoffs soliciting pricing for materials and subcontractors and the generation and completion of the bid package.
  
• Candidate must have minimum 5 years experience in the Heavy Highway Road Construction Industry.
  
• Direct report to Department Manager but will work directly with Project Managers and Project Engineers about pre and post bid calculations.
  
• Must be diligent thorough and direct with a special emphasis on mathematical ability.
  
• Experience in MS Office Heavy Bid and Heavy Job is required. Agtek and Primavera P6 experience is a plus.
