Officer Safety Health and Environment SHE

We are currently seeking a dedicated Officer for Safety Health and Environment (SHE) to join our team. The SHE Officer will be responsible for developing implementing and monitoring safety health and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulations and promote a culture of safety within the organization. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying hazards implementing preventive measures and fostering a safe working environment for all employees.

Tasks

• Develop and implement safety health and environmental policies procedures and programs in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities equipment and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Investigate accidents incidents and nearmisses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide safety training and education to employees on topics such as hazard recognition emergency response and safe work practices.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to assess risks and implement controls to mitigate workplace hazards.
• Monitor and track safety performance metrics analyze trends and develop reports to communicate findings and recommendations to management.
• Serve as a resource for employees regarding safety health and environmental issues and promote awareness through communication and engagement initiatives.
• Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry developments related to safety health and environmental matters and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

Qualification(s):

National Diploma in Safety Management/Environmental Health/ Environmental Management/ Environmental Sciences at NQF6 with 240 credits

Related Minimum Experience:

3 years experience Safety health environment quality risk security
