What youll do

To support Vodafones key strategic growth areas in IoT Vodafone Group Business Technology requires a highly capable and experienced Site Reliability Engineers to increase the IoT platforms reliability and performance. As a Site Reliability Engineer you will be responsible of IoT platforms stability continuity and operational improvement. You will deliver IoT applications services features modules and take the lead in deploying reviewing and troubleshooting of technical integration interfaces with various technology platforms & devices. You will be focusing on driving high reliability into systems by working closely with development engineering and product Architect teams. You will be responsible of creating software that improves the reliability of systems in production fixing issues responding to incidents and problems. You will work along the Dev/engineering teams in a DevOps model sharing a common vision and objectives bringing operative concerns early in the lifecycle.

You will be operating in an agile environment challenging architectures reviewing HLDs & LLDs aware of new product features and actively contribute to the Product backlog in the form of Operations by Design requirements. You will become a key part of major ongoing and upcoming IoT success story.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

• Implement database upgrades migrations and the major patch installation to assure of using the latest available technologies
• Work with peer SREs to roll out infrastructure provisioning to production environment and help mitigate databaserelated production incidents
• Provide database expertise to engineering teams through reviews of database migrations queries and performance optimizations.
• Implement configure and maintain the infrastructure of different Cloud platform projects (mainly AWS) through Infrastructure and configuration management as a code.
• Always consider and implement different aspects of continuous integration & deployment to ensure high level of Ops automation
• Responsible for Problem management to identify and manage RCA of incidents and implement preventive actions.

Core competencies knowledge and experience:

• Excellent problemsolving troubleshooting analytical and debugging skills.
• Strong interest to work in an international fastmoving agile & cross functioning environment
• Excellent communication & presentation skills in English (both written and spoken)
• Delivery focused customer satisfaction obsessed and ability to work in an Agile environment.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

• 5 years of proven handson experience in DBA cloud and infrastructure engineering
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Exadata and DB upgrades.
• Handson experience in RAC Oracle Data Guard Oracle Golden Gate and Performance Tuning.
• Strong knowledge of Unix and Linux administration and handson experience with shell scripting.
• Very good experience in CI/CD tools & technologies such as Git Jenkins Nexus SonarQube Salt etc.
• Very good experience in IaC tools such as Terraform cloud formation etc.
• Experienced in infrastructure deployment management and operations on public cloud providers (AWS)
• Excellent knowledge of Kubernetes and running dockerized microservices on top of it.
• Very good knowledge and understanding of Networks Databases DNS proxies & Security.
• Familiar with Microservices architecture.
• Handson experience with NoSQL databases such as MariaDB Postgres Keycloak Redis MongoDB etc.
• Good understanding of the Mobile network architecture and protocols
