General Labour - Aerospace

One of our large Aerospace clients located in the Whitby area is in search of a contract General Labourer/Aerospace Apprentice someone who wants to be fully trained in the Aerospace industry. This position will be converted to fulltime within or after the 3 month period if the successful candidate is performing well. The shift is Monday to Friday 7am 3:30pm. NO PART TIME.

Job Description

• Training will start with learning to abrasive grit blast glass bead peen degrease and mask various aerospace materials including nuclear and military products
  
• You will then learn how to conduct chemical conversion and the chromate conversion processes required on many parts
  
• Once you are ready you will be able to learn how to run the Ion Vapour Deposition machinesand do your own Electroplating of ZincNickel Cadmium Chrome Tin and Copper coatings onto aerospace and nuclear quality subtrates
  
• Candidates will also be trained in simple preventive maintenance activities on all appropriate equipment
  
• Epoxy Ceramic and Water based spray coatings application training will also be available for selected high performing candidates
  

Requirements

• Must be a Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant to be considered
  
• Fulltime availability Monday to Friday with overtime if required
  
• Have the desire to learn a trade in the Aerospace
  
• Be interested in working with your hands.
  
• Being able to handle products physically materials supplies and equipment
  
• Be able to communicate read and write effectively in English and collaborate with other team members
  
• Have basic mathematics skills
  

Experience

• High school Diploma is preferred (OSSD); or
  
• 0 3 year of general labour work
