Art Teacher

Job Description

• Planning lessons on Art and Art history in accordance with students’ learning objectives.
• Teach knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, coloring, and painting techniques
• Provide instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art
• Knows and provides instruction on the fundamentals and different approaches to drawing media technique
• Preparing the classroom by gathering and setting up the equipment needed.
• Assigning and grading projects and examinations.
• Recording and reporting on students ‘ progress.
• Monitoring inventory and sourcing Art supplies.
• Recording and maintain accurate students’ attendance records.
• Supervise workgroups.
• Communicating with parents through scheduled meetings to discuss students’ performance.
• Follow the school calendar and policies.

Job Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Arts, and Design or a similar field
• Alexandria Resident
• 2 or more years of experience is preferred.
• International Education background is preferred.
• PYP or IPC experience is a plus
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Teachable and positive personality.
