Vice President of Engineering
Reporting to: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Role Purpose
The Vice President of Engineering (VP Engineering) will lead the engineering function ensuring the effective translation of innovative carbon mineralisation technology into scalable reliable and commercially viable solutions. Reporting directly to the CTO this role is critical in aligning engineering execution with technological innovation enabling the company to maximise deployment opportunities and accelerate global impact.
The VP Engineering will act as a strategic bridge between Technology and Engineering ensuring seamless collaboration efficient delivery and continuous feedback loops that enhance both product development and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Partner closely with the CTO to align engineering strategy with technology development and business objectives.
- Develop and execute the engineering roadmap to support scale-up commercialisation and global deployment.
- Identify and unlock opportunities where engineering innovation can enhance technology performance and cost-efficiency.
- Contribute to executive decision-making as part of the senior leadership team.
2. TechnologyEngineering Integration
- Establish strong integration between R&D technology and engineering teams to ensure smooth transition from concept to deployment.
- Build structured feedback mechanisms from field engineering into technology development.
- Ensure design-for-manufacture scalability and operability are embedded early in technology development.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to optimise system performance reliability and cost.
3. Engineering Delivery & Execution
- Oversee the design development and execution of engineering projects from pilot to full-scale deployment.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time within budget and to required safety and quality standards.
- Implement robust engineering processes standards and governance frameworks.
- Manage engineering risks and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
4. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Build lead and mentor a high-performing multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration innovation and accountability.
- Develop organisational capability to support rapid scaling and international expansion.
- Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team.
5. Operational Excellence
- Establish best practices in engineering design procurement construction and commissioning.
- Drive standardisation and modularisation to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement performance metrics and KPIs to monitor engineering effectiveness.
- Ensure alignment with HSE sustainability and regulatory requirements.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Technology Commercial and Operations teams.
- Engage with external partners contractors and suppliers to deliver engineering solutions.
- Support business development by providing technical input for new opportunities and partnerships.
- Represent engineering capabilities to investors clients and strategic partners as required.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Chemical Process or related discipline); advanced degree preferred.
- Significant senior leadership experience in engineering within energy industrial or climate-tech sectors.
- Proven track record of scaling technologies from pilot to commercial deployment.
- Strong understanding of how engineering and technology functions interact to deliver innovation.
- Experience managing complex multi-disciplinary engineering projects globally.
Desirable
- Experience in carbon capture mineralisation or similar climate technologies.
- Background in startup or scale-up environments.
- Knowledge of modular design and industrialisation strategies.
