Position Summary
The College of Medicine invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Pathology. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching research and academic service supporting the universitys mission to deliver high-quality medical education and impactful research.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate medical students in general and systemic pathology including lectures practical/laboratory sessions and case-based learning
- Develop review and update course materials including syllabi assessments and learning resources
- Participate in integrated curriculum delivery (e.g. PBL TBL clinical correlations)
- Supervise student research projects and mentor students academically and professionally
- Conduct high-quality research in pathology and publish in peer-reviewed journals
- Participate in departmental college and university committees and quality assurance activities
- Contribute to accreditation processes and continuous academic improvement
- Engage in community service and professional development activities
- Collaborate in interdisciplinary teaching and research initiatives
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- PhD or equivalent (MD/PhD) in Pathology or related discipline
- Minimum 23 years of teaching experience at a university level (preferred)
- Strong research background with publications in indexed journals
- Experience in curriculum development and modern teaching methodologies
- Familiarity with medical education strategies (PBL simulation OSPE/OSCE)
- Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural academic environment
- Fluency in English (required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) classification (preferred)
- Experience in clinical pathology / histopathology / laboratory medicine
- Experience with accreditation standards (NCAAA or international bodies)
- Use of e-learning platforms and digital teaching tools
