Job Summary
The Technician is responsible for performing technical mechanical electrical or instrumentation tasks to support safe and efficient operations in oil & gas facilities. The role involves installation maintenance troubleshooting and repair of equipment and systems while adhering to Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Installation & Maintenance
Install commission and maintain machinery electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
Calibrate instruments sensors and control devices as per standards.
Assist in system upgrades or modifications.
2. Troubleshooting & Repairs
Identify faults in mechanical electrical or instrumentation systems.
Perform repairs and replacements to restore equipment functionality.
Support root cause analysis for recurring issues.
Coordinate with engineering or maintenance teams for complex problems.
3. HSE & Compliance
Follow Health Safety & Environmental procedures at all times.
Participate in safety inductions toolbox talks and drills.
Ensure work permits lockout/tagout procedures and risk assessments are followed.
Report incidents hazards or near misses promptly.
4. Operational Support
Assist Operators and Engineers in daily operations.
Monitor equipment performance and operational parameters.
Ensure tools materials and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain maintenance logs calibration records and work reports.
Report equipment status and maintenance activities to supervisors.
Support audits and inspections by providing technical records.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma Technical Certificate or Associate Degree in Mechanical Electrical Instrumentation or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Oil & Gas Petrochemical or Energy sector.
Hands-on experience with industrial equipment tools and instrumentation.
Knowledge of safety standards industrial codes and regulatory requirements.
Ability to read technical drawings schematics and P&ID diagrams.
