About WIMA
Women in Management Africa (WIMA) is a pan-African leadership organization advancing womens leadership board readiness and gender diversity across Africa through high-impact programs research and events engaging senior leaders policymakers and private sector executives.
Role Overview
WIMA is seeking a highly organized proactive and professional Event Coordinator Intern to support the planning and execution of key WIMA events over the next three months. This role offers direct exposure to senior leaders partners and high-profile stakeholders and requires someone who can perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end planning and coordination of WIMA events meetings and forums
- Assist with event logistics including venues vendors guest lists registrations and materials
- Coordinate communication with speakers partners sponsors and invited leaders
- Support PR and marketing activities related to events (invitations follow-ups social media support)
- Manage event timelines checklists and on-the-day execution
- Assist with stakeholder engagement and professional guest management during events
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
- Support post-event reporting documentation and feedback collection
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Must have studied Event Management Public Relations Marketing Communications or a related field
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities at once
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence and professionalism when interacting with senior leaders and executives
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Google Workspace and basic digital tools
- Social media or event marketing exposure is an added advantage
