Description

Thepurposeof aCoreCompetency(CC)Technical Officerposition (Lawyer) istocontributewithspecifictechnical competencestoprojectimplementation. Thispositionwillnormallynotentailmanagementresponsibility ofstaff butunder certaincircumstances thejobmayentail managementresponsibilityforaverylimitednumberofstaffs at assistant level. These circumstances can either be related to a time-bound support or permanent but limited-scope administrativesupport. Ifsupervisionoftechnicalorawiderrangeofstaffisneededthepositionof Team Leader is to be used.

  12. IFAPPLICABLE:Monitoranddocumentthe implementationofprojectactivitiesdonebyimplementingpartners and/or contractors (plan of action activities contracts financial expenditures and project documentation)

  13. IFAPPLICABLE:Conductqualitycontrolandprovidetechnicalsupporttoimplementingpartnersand/or contactors

Specificresponsibilities

These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context phase of operationstrategicfocusand typeofprogrammeintervention.Thissectionshallberevisedwhenevera new employee is hired or the context changes significantly. The line manager drafts the specific responsibilities and sends them to his/her line manager for approval.

  1. ProvisionofinformationcounsellingandfurtherlegalassistanceservicestoICLAbeneficiariesinaccordance with valid and applicable Jordanian laws and regulations

  2. LegalcasemanagementofbeneficiarycasesincludingenteringandupdatingactionsonICLA database providing updates on ICLA tools and necessary follow up within agreed deadlines.

  3. Provideaccompanimenttoprojectparticipantstogovernmentalentitiesandpolicestationstoassistin obtaining their necessary documents.

  4. Close liaison on legal matters with ICLA staff caseworkers in order to provide accurate and updated advice to ICLAbeneficiariesProvidelegalcounsellingontheissuesrelatedtotheCivilStatusLawLandlordand Tenants Law and Labour Law

  5. Monitorof thecourtrepresentation casesbyICLAexternallawyersandpropercasefilepreparation priorto the court sessions

  6. Providecollaborativedisputeresolution(CDR)andaccompanimentservicestobeneficiarieswhenrelevant

  7. Draftlegalagreementsandcontractsconductlegalanalysisforlawsandregulationsandprovide legalreports as required

  8. Contributetothelegalresearchanalysisanddevelopmentofthe trainingmaterials

  9. Coordinate with NRC legal aid partners and other service providers to ensure a comprehensive service provisionforICLAbeneficiariesthroughreferralsandjoint-onlinesheetsProvideanyothertasksasrequested by the line manager.
