Lead Piping Engineer

• Represent the engineering discipline focal point for the interfaces between the EPC contractor and the external engineering consultant.
• Represent the engineering discipline focal point for the interfaces between the EPC contractor and the Company
• Represent the subject matter expert within the EPC contractor engineering team
• Check and validate Engineering consultants services with regards to tender and construction deliverables.
• Early piping design review and constructability analysis
• Check and validate material requisition and MTOs
• Oversee engineering procurement interface from engineering standpoint
• Coordinate the information flow from engineering consultant to procurement/construction team and vice versa.
• Coordinate the Technical Bid Evaluation process between Vendors Procurement Dept. Quality Dept. and Engineering team for piping material.
• Assist Procurement in Purchase Order definition.
• Coordinate the Vendor followup after order placement for piping material.
• Follow the process of defining approving and procuring spare parts if any
• Identify technical queries deviations and submit recommendations on design change.
• Coordinate with design office for the management of change
• Support the construction team in implementing the engineering solutions at site.
• Preparation/review of the work method statement (WMS) for site activities.
• Communicate with piping subcontractors keep track of the progress of each activity to ensure that it is meeting the specifications of the project and to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
• Coordinate with document controller on design deliverables transaction to ensure smooth flow of documents and ensures all files are kept up to date at all times.
• Following punch list clearance activity and ensure the closure of top priority punches in order to avoid any delay in Pre-com and commissioning activity.
• Assembly of all required as built information and preparing the Red mark-up folders (P&ID Isometrics layout and the like)
• Preparation/review of Test Packs packages (Test configuration and philosophy marked up P&ID and Isometric drawings test boundary limits temporary material list).
• Support quality and construction departments to monitor progress and performance of subcontractor during the execution prefabrication installation and tests to ensure that all the activities are being managed and carried out effectively.

• Knowledge of industry practices tools codes and standards as applicable to the Piping discipline
• It is essential the candidate can manage their own workload and drive completion of the work scope independently
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications or equivalent (e.g. MS Outlook MS Word MS Excel MS Power Point ) is required
• Knowledge of national and international regulations and codes (valve codes AMSE B31.3 PED )
• Drafting Skills : Skilled in Auto CAD Plant 3D CAD and Excel spreadsheets; familiar with Pipe Stress Analyses software and other software.
