DISCIPLINE-ELECTRICAL/INSTRUMENT ENGINEER

MINIMUM ENGINEERING DEGREE IN ELECTRICAL / INSTRUMENTATION

A Junior Planning Engineer should have expert knowledge in excel /power B1

MANDATORY intermediate knowledge in P6

fundamental knowledge and practical understanding of Job Card preparation for

offshore/brown field construction Projects

Key Knowledge Areas

UNDERSTANDING JOB CARDS

Purpose of job cards in planning and execution.

Types of job cards (construction shutdown brownfield tie-in etc.).

Importance of job cards for resource planning execution tracking and cost control.

Client reporting and approval co ordination

PREPARATION OF JOB CARDS

Collecting work scope details from discipline engineers drawings specifications and

method statements.

Defining tasks activities and manpower requirements.

Identifying material tools equipment and permits needed.

Assigning job card numbers and linking them to project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

COORDINATION & VALIDATION

Liaising with engineering procurement and construction teams for input.

Cross-checking quantities material take-offs and work fronts.

Ensuring job cards are approved by planning/engineering leads before release.

MONITORING & UPDATING

Tracking job card completion during execution.

Updating progress in project scheduling tools (Primavera/MS Project).

Highlighting delays variations or additional work for management approval.

DOCUMENTATION & REPORTING

Maintaining a database of prepared job cards.

Linking job cards with timesheets cost codes and resource utilization reports.

Supporting preparation of weekly/monthly progress dashboards

Knowledge in job card management software
