GE HealthCare is a leading global medical technology and digital solutions innovator. We are looking for an exceptional Team Lead AI Algorithms to join our Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Algorithm group in Haifa.
This role combines people management and technical leadership. You will lead a team of algorithm developers drive end-to-end AI initiatives from clinical need to product integration and serve as the primary technical authority and consultation point for the team and cross-functional partners. Your success will be measured by your ability to align stakeholders deliver high-impact algorithmic capabilities and cultivate an environment of innovation ownership and execution excellence.
Job Description
People Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and manage a team of AI/algorithm engineers: coaching mentoring performance development hiring and fostering a strong team culture.
- Create an environment that enables high-quality execution learning and innovation balancing exploration with delivery.
- Set clear priorities define roles and help the team navigate ambiguity through structured decision-making.
Technical Leadership & Consultation (Go-To Expert)
- Serve as the technical authority for algorithmic decisions and as the first point of consultation for team members on architecture methodology evaluation and risk mitigation.
- Guide technical strategy propose new approaches and ensure the team is making sound trade-offs (clinical value robustness usability runtime constraints product timelines).
- Lead technical discussions design reviews and critical algorithmic decisions across multiple parallel efforts.
End-to-End AI Product Delivery
- Lead advanced AI projects including scoping requirements definition roadmap planning timeline ownership and delivery execution.
- Translate clinical and user needs into measurable algorithm requirements performance metrics and acceptance criteria.
- Drive development of clinically focused machine learning and computer vision solutions from research and prototyping to product-grade integration and lifecycle support.
- Partner closely with Software Systems Clinical Product and QA to align on deliverables constraints and integration plans.
Quality Verification and Regulated Product Mindset
- Support feature development within a regulated environment: verification planning risk assessment traceability and documentation readiness.
- Contribute to regulatory and compliance-oriented activities (e.g. supporting evidence generation for submissions) through structured evaluation and robust engineering practices.
Innovation & Strategic Growth
- Advance the teams technical agenda by identifying opportunities for new capabilities workflow improvements and novel algorithmic solutions.
- Maintain awareness of relevant advancements in AI/medical imaging and translate them into practical differentiated product impact.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop people including technical mentorship and team execution management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering complex cross-functional AI initiatives.
- . or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering Computer Science Biomedical Engineering Mathematics or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading algorithm development in applied settings with proven ability to take concepts from idea to validated product outcomes.
- Comfortable working in a product environment requiring rigor: clear requirements measurable validation and disciplined delivery.
Preferred / Advantageous Experience
- Experience with medical imaging ultrasound or clinically oriented AI solutions.
- Experience deploying algorithms under real-world constraints (performance robustness usability and operational variability).
- Familiarity with product development processes in regulated environments (verification traceability documentation).
