Mental Health Student Advisor

American International University Kuwait for immediate start

American International University (AIU) is looking for a dynamic and engaged fulltime Mental Health Student Advisor. We seek an individual who is passionate about offering support to young adults through mental health assessment and behavioral health services.

Responsibilities of Mental Health Advisor

Provide mental health and behavioral health assessments for the students to determine their wellbeing.
Lead and manage the Behavioral Intervention Team committee.
Development implementation and evaluation of services designed to encourage realistic selfappraisal an appreciation of cultural differences and student independence.
Provide lowlevel mental health and behavioral health intervention support strategies to students.
Oncampus promotion of mental health and overall wellbeing.
Identify atrisk students and where necessary provide resources for students to seek further support.
Establish relationships with offcampus providers where necessary.
Follow crisismanagement procedures when necessary.
Planning and scheduling a calendar to meet regularly with students as necessary.
Serving as a counselor for students working with difficult courses or life challenges that may interrupt degree completion.
Facilitate written documentation upon request.
Effectively communicate institutional standards.

Qualifications for Mental Health Advisor

Masters degree in any of the following fields:
Psychology
Mental Health Counseling
Social Work
Must be highly organized and capable of handling multiple caseloads.
Strong English communication skills are an added advantage.
The ability to work with a diverse group of students of different ages and ethnicity.
Proven ability to work independently.
