Job description

Woodston Personnel are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Consultant Pediatric Anesthetist to join our clients hospital in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe high-quality anaesthetic care to neonates infants children and adolescents across a wide range of surgical and diagnostic procedures. The role includes clinical leadership teaching and active participation in service development and clinical governance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide consultant-level pediatric anesthesia for elective and emergency surgical procedures.

  • Deliver anesthetic care for neonates infants children and adolescents including high-risk and complex cases.

  • Provide perioperative assessment and optimisation of pediatric patients.

  • Manage pediatric pain services including acute and postoperative pain control.

  • Participate in on-call rotas covering pediatric anesthesia and emergency services.

  • Provide anesthetic support for pediatric diagnostic and interventional procedures outside the operating theatre (e.g. MRI CT endoscopy).

  • Ensure the highest standards of patient safety monitoring and clinical care.

  • Adhere to national and international guidelines and best practice standards.

  • Participate in morbidity and mortality meetings incident reviews and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Provide clinical leadership within the pediatric anesthesia service.

  • Contribute to departmental policies protocols and service development.

  • Participate in clinical audit risk management and governance activities.

  • Support accreditation regulatory compliance and patient safety initiatives.

  • Supervise teach and mentor junior doctors trainees and allied healthcare professionals.

  • Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes.

  • Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) and appraisal processes.

  • Participate in or support clinical research and academic activities where appropriate.

  • Work closely with pediatric surgeons intensivists neonatologists nurses and allied health professionals.

  • Communicate effectively with children and their families ensuring informed consent and compassionate care.

  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.

Job requirements

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

US Board/ FRCS - Irish UK Canadian New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma dEtudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / Spain

Must have at least 3-5years of post-consultant or senior specialist experience

Eligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
