In addition to the exceptional computing power they provide QPUs are highly energy efficient and will contribute to a significant reduction in the carbon footprint of the HPC industry.
Job Description
Pasqal is in the process of developing and manufacturing its second series of quantum computers at its Massy site. These QPUs can be installed either in premises controlled by Pasqal for availability to external clients via cloud access or in the data centers (HPC) of external clients in France Europe and internationally.
As part of this we are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join a newly created Installation and Maintenance team in the Engineering and Production department. You will be responsible for the maintenance of the QPU in Saudi Arabia and will contribute to the improvement of the methods and processes in place in close collaboration with the engineering teams.
The position will be dedicated to the maintenance of a QPU in Dammam Saudi Arabia.
Your missions will be as follows:
- Performing the commissioning of QPUs onsite as well as subsequent updates (software and hardware) and conducting the final onsite acceptance.
- Receiving analyzing and tracking customer complaints until resolution.
- Performing firstlevel diagnostics to define and coordinate the necessary activities to restore the machines in case of failure then intervening onsite for the deployment of corrections.
- Contributing to the validation and development of diagnostic repair and maintenance procedures by closely collaborating with development teams (optics optomechanics electronics mechanics software) and production teams.
- Analyzing and reporting observed failures and defects contributing to the continuous improvement of machine performance and reliability.
- Maintaining and developing maintenance documentation and ensuring traceability of interventions and machine configurations.
About you
You have a technical background or an engineering degree/equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in the maintenance of hightech complex machines in a certified quality system (at least ISO 9001.

Hard Skills:
- Strong knowledge in complex system engineering special machines and versatile technical knowledge (electronics lasers detection modulation software cooling communication networks etc.
- Excellent problemsolving and root cause analysis skills
- Knowledge of quality management system requirements (ISO 9001 or similar)
- Proficiency in Arabic and English; knowledge of French is a plus.
