Overview
Element is seeking a Senior Chemist to lead in LCMS/MS and GCMS/MS operations. Key responsibilities include developing and validating methods maintaining ISO 17025:2017 standards managing analytical projects ensuring safety and contributing to team training.
This position will be based in Dammam KSA
Responsibilities
- Expertise in handling and operating various spectroscopy and chromatographic systems such as ICPMS OES GCMS and GFID
- Ability to conduct routine maintenance on spectroscopy and chromatographic systems
- Experience in preparing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including method validation and qualification activities
- Familiarity with maintaining ISO 17025:2017 quality management systems and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Skills in handling and closing NonConformance Reports (NCRs) and implementing corrective and preventive measures
- Capability to train and supervise chemists and technician
- Proficiency in executing complex analytical projects to support client needs
- Adherence to safety requirements including the use of personal protective equipment
- Strong problemsolving and analytical abilities including qualitative and statistical data analysis
- Qualification as a peer reviewer
- Efficient management of duties to meet Turnaround Time (TAT) requirements
- Effective communication skills for reporting to the Laboratory Manager and supporting the laboratorys organic chemistry businesses
Skills / Qualifications
- Typical educational requirements are and/ Chemistry
- 5 years handson experience for the analysis of pesticides in soil and water
- Handlining of equipment troubleshooting
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques demonstrated through a combination of industry and academic performance
- Should be proficient in ISO17025:2017 laboratory quality management system
- Selfmotivated team player with excellent organizational and communication skills with an ability to work under pressure
- Must be a flexible adaptable selfdriven team player with a positive attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be fluent in both oral and written English
- Strong analytical technical and problemsolving skills
- Ability to function well in a highpaced and at times stressful environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (LIMS)
- Proficiency in chromatographic techniques specifically GCMS/MS and LCMS/MS is mandatory
- Strong background and comprehensive understanding of organic extraction procedures specifically for ultratrace level analysis of pesticides and organic contaminants
- Experience with commercial testing laboratories is highly advantageous
- Capable of working independently under minimal supervision
