Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Overview

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing evaluating and improving mechanical systems equipment and processes within the organization. The role requires the ability to perform technical analysis oversee project execution collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure compliance with engineering standards safety procedures and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles experience in industrial or construction environments and the capability to handle end-to-end mechanical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop review and approve mechanical designs drawings specifications and technical documents related to mechanical systems.
  

• Plan and supervise mechanical engineering activities including installation testing commissioning and maintenance of mechanical equipment and machinery.
  

• Conduct feasibility studies cost estimation and material selection in accordance with project requirements.
  

• Perform root cause analysis for mechanical failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  

• Coordinate with vendors contractors and project teams for procurement fabrication inspection and project execution.
  

• Evaluate mechanical systems for energy efficiency reliability and performance improvement.
  

• Ensure mechanical engineering work adheres to industry codes safety standards and statutory regulations.
  

• Prepare and maintain engineering reports project documentation and progress updates for stakeholders.
  

• Support multidisciplinary teams during project planning scheduling and resource allocation.
  

• Provide technical guidance mentoring and leadership to junior engineers and technicians.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline from a recognized institution.
  

• Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in mechanical engineering roles preferably in industrial manufacturing or construction projects.
  

• Professional membership or certification in a relevant engineering body will be an added advantage.

Skills Required

• Strong understanding of HVAC systems piping pumping stations rotating equipment and mechanical fabrication processes.
  

• Proficiency in mechanical design software such as AutoCAD SolidWorks or similar tools.
  

• Excellent knowledge of mechanical codes and standards including ASME ASTM API and ISO.
  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with hands-on experience in troubleshooting mechanical systems.
  

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings schematics and technical specifications.
  

• Effective project management planning coordination and documentation skills.
  

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for technical discussions and team coordination.
