ROLE PURPOSE: The post holder will implement the education interventions implementation mainly catch-up classes and capacity building implementation and will be responsible for the technical financial and administrative management of the education activities in Aswan. The education officer will be responsible for ensuring that the education interventions contribute successfully towards the implementation of the catch-up classes implementation and other educational activities. S/he will also be responsible for capacity building and coaching education staff members working on education interventions. S/he will be also responsible for the renovation in the community learning centers and the provision of education grants. S/he will be also responsible with respective line managers for building external relations with Community Learning Schools (CLSs) of refugees communities and other Stakeholders. The project is funded from the Swiss Development Corporation (SDC) and will be based in Aswan. The project duration is one year from January 2026 to December 2026. The project will be targeting Sudanese community in Aswan based in Aswan field office and the team will be working and based across 3 friendly scpaces in areas with high Sudanese concentration as Karkar and Nasr Elnuba working on multisectors: - Child Protection: case management for children exposed to protection risks besides providing emergency cash and protection for cash. It will also include mentorship program for children especially the unacompanied and separated children. Additionally there will be capacity building for community leaders and teachers on CP and safeguarding. Furthermore there will be awareness raising for children on their rights besides awareness for their parents as well. - MHPSS: providing groups and individual mental health and psychosocial support to the children in groups and also individually according the care plan of each child. There will be also positive parenting groups conducted for the parents. Moreover there will be community events held to enhance their wellbeing and integration. - Education: it will include renovation for community learning centers of Sudanese community beside training to the teachers on the main technical and socio-emotional mechanisms. The project will provide education grants as well for the children enrolled in these centers. There will be also programs provided to the children who dropped out to enable them to return back to school and other program for children who have weak literacy skills. - Livelihood: the component will have two tracks; wage employment and self employment. The 1st track will include capacity building for the beneficiaries followed by matching to employment opportunity. Beneficiaries will be supported by cash assistance and apprenticeship for 3 months. The 2nd track will be self employment starting with capacity building for the beneficiaries then provision of seed fund to start their business. Beneficiaries will have at least 3 month of coaching and monitoring. Vocational training will be also provided based on need. - Cash Assistance: the project will provide multipurpose cash assistance for vulnerable families besides winteriation assistance as well. There will be also awareness raising on money management for those receiving the cash assistance. - Health: will include emergency nutrition screening and rapid nutritional support provided to newly arrived crisis-affected children and women. Additionally there will be support to the public health system by training provision to staff and providing medical supplies. There will be also trainings for mental health and GBV-related service providers in Aswan. The project will support the establishment of health service points within the community to provide health care services as check up and also providing cash for health. - Gender will be mainstreamed across all sectors with focus on gender equality in awareness sessions girls empowerement and health and protection support for GBV cases - | |

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY : Program design and implementation Participate in the project design and all related surveys. Developing and implement the necessary plans to build the capacities of teachers and school management on the mechanisms on implementing catch-up clubs to improve reading and writing skills and solutions in education especially Literacy Boost Numeracy Boost Enabling Teachers and leadership programs. Deliver trainings to the teachers of the community schools of refugees communities and coach them. Manage the renovation to be conducted in the community learning centers. Set project indicators and results reporting; ensure that project activities & partners align to achieve these results. Provide technical support for CLCs and support them in developing the education programs according to the project work vision. Ensure that CUCs activities are tailored to meet the specific learning needs of students particularly those at risk of dropping out or failing. Ensure project resources are utilized on time that implementation moves forward according to plans and that issues are resolved promptly. Prepare scopes of work and ensure that recommendations are followed up. Conduct field visits to follow up on the implementation of the catch-up classes activities. Plans and organize meetings workshops trainings and other activities as needed. Prepare logistics and administrative arrangements for activities including training workshops meetings and other activities. Write and review reports of training and workshops for education stakeholders. Provide MEAL with required data and documentation for interventions in line with MEAL regulations. Carry out other relevant reasonable tasks assigned by the Education TA. |
Budget and Grant Management and Compliance Ensure expenditures are within budgetary limit and follow SCIs and donor policies. Staff Management and Development Ensure appropriate community staffing within the projects by monitoring the hiring criteria. Ensure that all staff understand and can perform their responsibilities. Utilize the Performance Management System define expectations of staff members develop work plans and improvement plans as needed and provide technical support for staff development. Reporting: Monitor the projects outputs on regular basis using SCI monitoring tools. Draft quality monthly reports. Develop and properly document capacity building materials. Compile concise quantitative and qualitative reports case studies etc. on a monthly and quarterly basis. Regularly compile and share lessons learnt and best practices. Highlight general protection issues present in community to the project manager to take the proper action. Keep timely record of financial progress reports. Ensure that ongoing program monitoring/learning feeds into alterations into program design. | |

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in Education or equivalent experience. | |
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Essential At least 3-5 years of experience in education preferably in a role focused on remedial education tutoring or student support. | |
Experience in training and mentoring teachers or facilitators. Strong experience in dealing with local communities and CDAs Strong understanding of the challenges faced by marginalized and vulnerable learners. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Fluency in English with strong written and oral communication skills required. | |
