TITLE: SCHOOLWIDE PRINCIPAL
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR & DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Primary Purpose:
The Schoolwide Principal will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the American curriculum fostering a high-achieving learning environment and cultivating a collaborative and inclusive school culture aligned with ABSs mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide strong instructional leadership across all divisions of the school (elementary middle and high school).
- Collaborate with school leaders to develop and implement a strategic vision for continuous school improvement.
- Ensure the alignment of teaching and learning practices with American curriculum standards (e.g. AERO Common Core).
- Lead school accreditation processes and ensure compliance with local and international educational standards.
Academic Oversight
- Oversee curriculum development implementation and assessment across all grade levels.
- Promote best practices in teaching and learning to improve student achievement and outcomes.
- Analyze student performance data and use it to inform instruction and policy decisions.
Staff Development & Management
- Implement a robust professional development program aligned with school goals.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback and support to instructional leaders and teachers.
Operations & School Culture
- Ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the school.
- Foster a safe respectful and inclusive learning environment.
- Promote positive relationships among students staff parents and the broader school community.
- Support student well-being behavior management and extracurricular programming.
Community Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison between the school and the parent community.
- Represent ABS positively with external stakeholders including local authorities accreditation bodies and educational partners.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Masters Degree or higher in Educational Leadership Administration or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification and administrative license from the U.S. or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role preferably in an American-curriculum international school.
- Proven track record of effective instructional leadership and school improvement.
- Strong understanding of American educational standards and international education contexts.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to thrive in a diverse international setting.

ABS is a private non-profit school offering an American-based curriculum including a wide variety of advanced courses and a college preparatory program guiding students to become independent intellectual global citizens. It is our goal to develop responsible and accountable young adults who are prepared for the challenges of international universities. The American Baccalaureate School opened its doors in September 2006 to 550 students. We now have over 1300 students enrolled from pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade.
