Service Maintenance Engineer – Spectrum Monitoring (Spectrum Management)

Job Purpose
To ensure the operational readiness maintenance and repair of Mechanical Electrical (MEP) equipment and spectrum-monitoring systems at the Spectrum Monitoring & Reporting Centre (SRMC). This role supports the overall spectrum management operations by maintaining high availability of equipment conducting preventive and corrective maintenance and producing timely accurate reports.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain service and repair MEP systems (mechanical electrical plumbing) within the spectrum monitoring facility to ensure high availability.
Support and monitor the readiness and operational condition of the SRMC facility and its monitoring equipment.
Carry out preventive maintenance troubleshooting and corrective maintenance for all relevant equipment related to spectrum monitoring operations.
Ensure that spectrum monitoring equipment (e.g. receivers antennas RF test and measurement systems) is functioning correctly and meets operational readiness standards.
Work closely with the spectrum monitoring team to schedule maintenance tasks in coordination with monitoring operations minimising downtime.
Produce accurate and timely reports documenting maintenance activities system faults operational readiness metrics and recommendations for improvement.
Perform fault diagnosis root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for equipment failures or performance deteriorations.
Manage spare parts inventory maintenance logs calibration records and service contracts for equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety environmental and regulatory standards in all maintenance operations.
Liaise with external contractors vendors and internal stakeholders for servicing calibration or upgrades of equipment.
Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance processes operational readiness procedures and monitoring workflows.
Provide technical support and training to junior staff or operators regarding equipment use maintenance best practices and safe operation.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Electrical Communications Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in maintenance service and repair of MEP equipment and/or technical/monitoring equipment in a communications RF or technical facility environment.
Proven experience with operational readiness maintenance programmes testing/calibration of monitoring/measurement systems is a plus.
Solid knowledge of building systems (MEP) mechanical electrical and plumbing infrastructure that supports technical operations.
Strong report-writing skills; ability to produce accurate timely professional technical documentation.
Good troubleshooting and analytical skills; ability to diagnose system faults and propose corrective actions.
Familiarity with safety regulatory and environmental requirements in technical facilities.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team; good communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to respond to maintenance emergencies or unscheduled outages as needed.

Some travel within Qatar or to facility sites may be required depending on the monitoring assets.
