Job Purpose
The Assistant SCADA / RO Engineer supports the operation monitoring and maintenance of SCADA systems and Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment plants. The role ensures efficient plant performance system reliability water quality compliance and adherence to safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
SCADA System Support
- Assist in operating and monitoring SCADA systems for water treatment and distribution processes.
- Support real-time monitoring of alarms trends and system performance.
- Assist in troubleshooting SCADA hardware software and communication issues.
- Support data logging report generation and system backups.
- Coordinate with senior engineers vendors and IT teams for system maintenance and upgrades.
RO Plant Operations
- Assist in daily operation of RO systems including pumps membranes filters and chemical dosing systems.
- Monitor plant parameters such as pressure flow conductivity pH and recovery rates.
- Support routine inspection cleaning (CIP) and maintenance of RO membranes.
- Assist in water quality testing and ensure compliance with required standards.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Identify operational abnormalities and report issues promptly.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow HSE procedures and operational safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain proper operational logs checklists and maintenance records.
Coordination & Reporting
- Prepare daily operation reports and assist in performance analysis.
- Coordinate with electrical mechanical and instrumentation teams.
- Support commissioning and testing of new systems or modifications.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Instrumentation Mechanical Chemical Engineering or related field.
Experience
- 5 years of experience in SCADA systems and/or RO water treatment plants.
Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of SCADA systems (PLC HMI sensors and communication protocols).
- Understanding of RO processes and water treatment operations.
- Ability to read P&IDs electrical schematics and control diagrams.
- Familiarity with water quality standards and plant safety procedures.
- Basic troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; SCADA software experience is an advantage.
