Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Muscat Sultanate of Oman

Nestled in between the dramatic backdrop of rugged mountains and the pristine waters of the Sea of Oman Shangri-Las Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa is set on 124 acres of stunning scenery and home to three spectacular hotels: the family orientated Al Waha comprises 262 rooms the diverse Al Bandar comprises 198 deluxe rooms and the luxurious and most exclusive Al Husn has 180 elegantly appointed guestrooms and suites. The resort also features 22 Food and Beverage outlets 1056 sqm ballroom with 8 breakout rooms wide variety of recreational facilities and a spa with 12 treatment villas.

The Reservations Intern supports the reservations team in managing guest bookings inquiries and system updates. This role provides hands-on experience with hotel reservation systems guest communication and coordination with front office and sales teams contributing to overall guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in handling reservation inquiries via phone email or online channels in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support in entering modifying and canceling reservations accurately in the hotels reservation system.
  • Learn to provide guests with information on room types rates packages and availability.
  • Collaborate with the front office and sales teams to ensure special requests VIP bookings or group reservations are well-coordinated.
  • Help maintain accurate records of bookings guest preferences and billing instructions.
  • Observe and assist in applying upselling techniques and promoting special offers when appropriate.
  • Respond to guest questions or concerns with clarity and courtesy escalating when needed.
  • Participate in training and daily briefings to understand systems procedures and brand standards.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy when handling guest information and booking details.
  • Maintain a neat and organized reservations area at all times.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Interest in hotel operations guest service and reservations management.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with hotel booking systems is an advantage (training provided).
  • Detail-oriented organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Positive attitude team-oriented and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible with working hours including weekends and holidays if required.
