Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis & Solution Manager (SolMan) Manager to lead the administration performance optimization and support of our SAP landscape. This role requires deep expertise in SAP Basis administration SAP Solution Manager (SolMan) system performance tuning and SAP landscape management. The ideal candidate will ensure system stability security and compliance while driving automation and innovation in SAP operations.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP Basis Administration:
- Manage SAP system installations upgrades and migrations (S/4HANA ECC BW PI/PO etc.).
- Perform system monitoring tuning and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and performance.
- Oversee SAP landscape management client copies system refreshes and transport management.
- Ensure SAP security hardening patching and compliance with IT security policies.
- Manage SAP High Availability (HA) & Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies.
- Optimize HANA database performance backup and restore strategies.
- Work closely with infrastructure network and cloud teams to optimize SAP performance.
SAP Solution Manager (SolMan) Administration & Operations:
- Implement and manage SAP Solution Manager functionalities including:
- System Monitoring (Proactive alerts & performance analytics).
- Change & Release Management (ChaRM) for controlled SAP transport management.
- Test Management (Automation & manual test execution).
- Business Process Monitoring to track process health.
- Technical Monitoring for SAP applications & databases.
- Focused Build & Focused Insights for agile SAP project execution.
- Enhance Root Cause Analysis (RCA) EarlyWatch Alerts (EWA) and ITSM integration.
- Drive automation and integration of SolMan with ITSM tools (ServiceNow Jira etc.).
Performance Optimization & System Security:
- Analyze and improve SAP system performance load balancing and scalability.
- Optimize memory management SAP buffers work processes and background jobs.
- Conduct security audits role-based access control (RBAC) and risk assessments.
- Ensure SAP systems comply with GDPR SOX ISO and industry regulations.
Cloud & Infrastructure Management:
- Support SAP Cloud deployments (SAP BTP Azure AWS GCP or private cloud).
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for SAP automation using Ansible/Terraform.
- Manage hybrid cloud integrations and connectivity between on-prem & cloud SAP environments.
Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in SAP Basis Administration & Solution Manager (SolMan).
- Experience with SAP HANA Oracle SQL Server and ASE database administration.
- Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA Fiori Web Dispatcher PI/PO and SAP Cloud Connector.
- Deep understanding of SAP transport management CTS and ChaRM.
- Knowledge of Linux Windows and cloud environments (Azure AWS GCP).
- Familiarity with SAP security patching and encryption methodologies.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-availability production environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Leadership experience in guiding SAP Basis teams and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in IT Computer Science or related field.
- SAP Basis or SAP SolMan certification is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in SAP Basis administration and Solution Manager operations. Overall 12 years of relevant SAP experience.
- Experience with SAP system migrations (on-prem to cloud ECC to S/4HANA) is a plus.
