Job Overview:
In this job you are responsible for managing and coordinating all handling activities related to the vessel containers shipments and delivery procedures of cargoes/containers. They ensure that operations run smoothly comply with safety regulations and meet customer deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with port authorities trucking companies and cargo handlers for the loading and unloading of vessels.
- Prepare and verify required documentation such as bills of lading cargo manifests customs paperwork etc.
- Monitor cargo movements to ensure timely and efficient handling and delivery.
- Inspect containers and equipment for damage or irregularities.
- Ensure compliance with safety security and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate records of cargoes/containers movements inspections and operational activities.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding operational updates.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve cargo-related issues.
Main Duties:
Scheduling:
- Make sure sailing schedule in GOS/Odyssey is always up-to-date and adjusted based on latest news.
- Have meetings with trade to agree on most efficient sailing schedule which fits the operational & commercial requirements. (fuel savings customer requirements etc.)
- Communicate latest updated sailing schedule on regular base (at least daily).
Statistics Archive & Invoicing:
- Checking of reports from vessels & check if info in Port Operations Report is correct (make sure this is info is correct in our ops. system GOS/Odyssey).
- Update vessel/terminal statistics (KPIs on shared drive) and add comments when vessel did not arrive/sail as per the original window).
- Creating & Checking Invoices of suppliers in case needed (outside the normal invoicing process handled by ships-admin). This all done to support and in good cooperation with ship-admin dept (f.e. claims invoices or invoices which cannot be matched by the ).
- Checking Port services invoices (pilots linesmen waste/sludge disposals taxi hospital tugs etc.) in case ship-admin cannot match them or in case of assistance is needed.
Other operational tasks:
- Checking bookings/loading lists regularly to be able to make a stowage plan (weights types sizes plug-ins IMDG Feeder) so they can be sent out with good quality to terminals & vessels.
- Assisting in case of received vessel/cargo claims (make sure TDRs are signed and keep claims dept.& bunker-and chartering dept. informed about all claims).
- Join & Initiate teams meetings which are needed to
- Have a flexible shipping mentality/approach: 24/7 mentality.
- Good team player divide daily tasks in good coordination with your direct colleagues.
- Willing to assist other colleagues/ all ops. matters pro-active offer your assistance to the colleagues in your team in case the workload allows it.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further certifications in logistics or supply chain are a plus.
- Prior experience in cargo handling shipping or port operations preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of safety and security procedures in port/warehouse environments.
- Fluency in French and Arabic is required; proficiency in English is necessary.
