AtkinsRalis seeks a Junior GIS Manager to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative geospatial solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in GIS technologies and experience in managing and executing GIS projects. This role requires a technical expert with a deep understanding of GIS systems data management and solution architecture.
The GIS Specialist will administer and maintain the GIS environment ensuring data integrity and providing technical support. This position demands a combination of technical expertise and problemsolving abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee GIS system administration and maintenance including software hardware and infrastructure management.
- Establish and implement GIS standards and best practices to guarantee data quality accuracy and consistency.
- Design and implement tailored GIS solutions to address specific business needs.
- Manage and maintain geospatial data prioritizing quality accuracy and accessibility.
- Provide technical support to users regarding GIS software and data issues.
- Develop robust GIS architectures to support organizational objectives.
- Manage relational database management systems (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases to accommodate diverse application requirements.
- Configure and manage virtualization environments to optimize GIS system performance and scalability.
- Handle raster vector and realtime geospatial data ensuring seamless integration and processing.
- Demonstrate expertise in cuttingedge GIS technologies such as Smart Cities Digital Twins Indoor GIS and Geospatial Intelligence.
- Provide assistance in developing project documentation where applicable.
- Lead the implementation and integration of GIS solutions within cloud environments (e.g. AWS Azure GCP).
- Leverage remote sensing data to derive valuable insights and inform decisionmaking.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Geography GIS Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in GIS encompassing system administration data management and project management.
- Strong proficiency in GIS software and tools (e.g. ArcGIS Enterprise ArcGIS Pro ArcFM GeoAI Python SQL FME databases).
- Demonstrated experience in GIS solution architecture and design.
- Experience in designing and executing ETL workflows
- Exceptional analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Fluency in Arabic and English languages.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in specific industry sectors (e.g. oil and gas utilities environmental).
- GIS or ITIL certifications.
