Senior Database Administrator
Salmiya Kuwait
Qualification:
UniversityDegree in Information Technology/Computer Science or Equivalent (Mastersdegree is preferred).
Must beMCSE certified.
Must beMS SQL Server Certified.
Preferable to be OracleCertified Professional DBA .
Required Experience:
At least 15year experiencein RDBMS Administration
Expert in MS SQL Server2008/12/14/17 /19 and other RDBMS like Oracle.
RDBMSClustering experience.
Backupand recovery practices in SQL Server.
Experiencedin RDBMS SQL Server application tuning.
Strongknowledge of SQL Server Administration (DBA) best practices for performance andgrowth optimization.
Capacityof SQL Server monitoring and management.
SQLTSQL and PL/SQL Programming and development experience and proficiency isrequired.
Capableof creating Stored Procedures and Triggers with high proficiency.
Backupand recovery experience at a firstperson level required SQL Server SecurityExperience
Experiencewith RDBMS Backup and Recovery
Proficienton SQL Server patching and upgrades including out of place upgrade.
Knowledgeof Windows Active Directory EMC storage Centera VMAX EMC Networker DATADomain VMware VSphere and VCentre is a plus.
Technical Duties & Responsibilities:
Installation Configuration administration and maintenanceof sql server (and/or oracle) for testing development and production environments.
CreateUsers and assign permissions based on the level of database access the user(Security).
CreateLinked Servers to SQL Servers and other databases such as Oracle etc. (Securityand General Administration).
Designdatabase including complex data models and logical database designs.
Backup and Restoration Strategy (Database Backups and sqlserver agent.
Perform and maintainBackups monitor backups regular
Setup HighAvailability as per Disaster Recovery Strategyfor the Databases (Failover Clustering Database Mirroring log shipping andReplication).
Troubleshootvarious problems that arise in a daytoday work and fix the issues.(Monitoring Error Logs).
Plans andconducts structured testing of database designs to confirm functionality andperformance.
Performsroutine and customary operational and monitoring activities to ensure databaseintegrity stability availability and capable of meeting ongoing businessneeds.
Evaluatestechnology and techniques to implement and maintain databases.
Acceptsthe lead for projects as assigned and contributes as a team member to otherprojects in an ongoing manner.
Workdirectly with development groups helping design DB to interact efficiently withthe database.
Documentingmajor changes to the SQL Servers and providing reports to management.
ApplyService Packs and updates as needed.
Supportlocal staff in improving their skills and expertise.
Prepareand Conduct technical presentations.
Do otherassignments related to RDMS system as requested.
